Agis Leopoulos
                Head of International, NBG
              
              Agis  Leopoulos was born in Athens and is a graduate  of Athens College. He obtained his Bachelor and  Masters degrees in the Faculty of Economics of the London School of Economics. 
              On  completing his military service, he started his career at the European  Commission in Brussels  where he worked for three years mainly on economic affairs, including the new  European banking directives and the EU's economic policy in CEEC countries.  After a brief spell in financial consulting, he was recruited by NBG's  subsidiary in Paris,  where he focused on international syndications before joining the team offering  treasury and corporate products to Greek clients. 
              He then  moved to National Bank of Greece  in Athens as an  Advisor to Management, later becoming Head of the Management Office and  Investor Relations. It was in this capacity that he undertook to work on or  coordinate projects such as NBG's listing on the New York Stock Exchange,  setting up NBG's Euro 1bn Global Medium Term Note Programmes and the subordinated  debt and convertible bond issues by NBG .
              Having  created and organized the Bank's first Investor Relations Department, he  participated in numerous deal and non-deal international roadshows representing  NBG among investors. In August 2002 he was appointed General Manager of  International Activities of NBG. In this capacity he oversees the Group's  International business development and geographical coverage while  co-sponsoring strategic expansion.
              He speaks  fluently English and French and sits on the Board of Directors of a number of  foreign subsidiaries of the NBG Group
